1 DAY LEFT 3

1 DAY LEFT 3

Chapter 3

Ignored Damien’s accusations and stared straight at him.

De you remember Delcher was your blood brother. To him, you were the most important person in the world.”

The words Rosy had just spoken could only have come from Damien himself.

For three years, no matter how unreasonable Damien’s demands were, I had agreed to every single one without ever refusing.

Whether it was work or daily life, as long as I could do it and Damien wanted it, I never made excuses.

But Delcher was my bottom line. I would never allow anyone to trample on his memory in front of me.

Damien froze, seemingly confused by my question.

“Of course I remember. What’s your point-

Rosy’s face suddenly changed, and she grabbed Damien’s hand.

“Damien, my stomach feels off. Come with me to get it checked.”

Hearing that Rosy felt unwell, Damien’s expression darkened again. He turned and snarled at me.

Three years I’ve put up with you for three whole years!”

“Don’t think you can keep leeching off this family by playing the almost-sister-in-law card! Your wedding with my brother never even started-you were never actually married!”

So get the hell out of here!”

After saying this, Damien didn’t spare me another glance. He helped Rosy up and headed for the door.

Damien and Delcher were actually quite similar. Often, I would see glimpses of Delcher in Damien.

At this moment, watching Damien’s retreating figure, that familiar silhouette gradually overlapped with the one in my memories. My nose suddenly stung with

tears.

Damien, I will leave.”

The moment I spoke those words, I saw Damien’s figure pause slightly.

Maybe I was seeing things.

After they left, I took a deep breath and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

Today was the last day of our three-year agreement, and also the third anniversary of Delcher’s death.

I wanted to look my best when I went to see my beloved.

Just as I stepped out of the bathroom, the landline rang.

I walked over and picked up the phone, puzzled. A familiar voice reached my ears.

“Ha, didn’t you say you were leaving? Why are you still answering the phone?”

“Rosy’s having some health issues. The doctor says she needs to stay for observation. Since you laid hands on her this morning, you can make some food and bring it to the hospital.”

Damien hung up without waiting for my response. I stood there holding the phone for a long time.

After a while, I finally got up and walked into the kitchen.

Today was the last day. I didn’t want Damien to notice anything unusual, and I didn’t want any accidents when I went to see Delcher.

Consider it the last thing I would ever do for Damien.

Chapter 3

Just as 1 reached the hospital entrance with the thermal container, my phone buzzed with a message from Rosy.

“Oh no, what should I do, Violena? I’m pregnant now-six weeks!”

Tell me, what do you have to compete with me now? Damien just said he’s going to marry me and give me a grand wedding!”

“Do you think there will still be a place for you in the Scott family?”

“You only have yourself to blame for that last minute disaster! If you had actually married Delcher, the position of future Scott family matriarch would have

been yours today!”

“Such a shame. What a waste.”
